Hope Caitlin is a 22 year old artist based in the north east of England. Becoming chronically ill at the age 11 and unable to attend school, she crafted a world of wonder, all from her bed. A decade long struggle meticulously documented on scraps of paper, iPhone notes and visual art pieces, in her words,
‘Pure and simple, I love it. It’s the language of my heart and not speaking it feels harder somehow. It’s what gets me out of bed on hard days and on the days I can’t leave, it keeps me company. Hearing people’s connections to the work I make is an indescribable feeling. I don’t think anything connects us the way art does – and for that, it’s my favourite thing in the whole world.’
